The Butcher’s Guild will be bringing our meat-cutting savoir-faire to the Bay Area BBQ Championship. July 15th we are presenting to the competitors about the nitty gritty of finding the best cuts and how butchery and BBQ have been bedfellows since time immemorial.
July 16th, we have the good fortune of being VIP judges, adding our two bits about all four categories: pork, ribs, brisket and chicken. Joining us are Charter Member Ryan Farr and Founding Member John Fink! We love our job.
Competition is fierce as 32 Pit Masters and their teams compete in chicken, ribs, brisket and pork. Celebrity, VIP and Certified Judges determine the Grand Champion. The People (you) taste and vote for the team most deserving of the People’s Choice Award. You must pre-purchase your ticket packages if you want to attend. All proceeds benefit the thousands of Northern California foster children, youth and families served by Alternative Family Services.
